About the Role

Senior Oracle DBA

Database Administration & Support

• Install, configure, and maintain

  Oracle databases

  (11g/12c/19c/21c) across development, QA, and production environments
• Perform regular

  database patching, upgrades, and migrations

• Monitor database performance and implement

  tuning recommendations

• Automate repetitive tasks using

  scripts (Shell, Python, PL/SQL)

  or tools (OEM, Ansible, etc.)
• Set up and manage

  Data Guard

  ,

  RAC (Real Application Clusters)

  , and

  ASM (Automatic Storage Management)

Backup, Recovery & Security

• Design and implement robust

  backup and recovery strategies

  using

  RMAN

• Conduct regular

  disaster recovery drills

  and test business continuity plans
• Implement and maintain

  database security policies

  , including encryption, auditing, and user access control

Monitoring & Performance Tuning

• Proactively monitor database health using

  Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

  or third-party tools
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to SQL queries, memory, CPU, and storage
  
• Optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code with development teams

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as a

  technical mentor

  to junior DBAs
• Collaborate with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support agile delivery
  
• Provide

  24x7 support

  for critical production databases (on a rotational or on-call basis)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  
• Deep expertise with:
  

• Oracle RDBMS (11g to 21c)

• Oracle RAC

  ,

  Data Guard

  ,

  ASM

  ,

  RMAN

• PL/SQL

  ,

  SQL Tuning

  ,

  AWR/ASH

  reports
• Experience with

  Linux/Unix administration

  (RedHat, Oracle Linux preferred)
• Proficient in writing and debugging shell or Python scripts for automation
  
• Strong understanding of

  HA/DR architectures
