Senior Member of Technical Staff

ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Member of Technical Staff you will own the software design and development for major components of Oracles Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a rock solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience3+ years of experience shipping services softwareStrong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals. Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architecturesKnowledge of Internet protocols and standards, including SMTP, REST, SSL and HTTPStrong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologiesStrong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.

Preferred qualifications: Masters degree in Computer ScienceStrong understanding of event streaming platforms like Apache KafkaStrong grasp of KubernetesExperience in a start-up environmentExperience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systemsStrong grasp of Unix-like operating systemsExperience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plusDesign, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
