Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.
Review patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
Verify coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and charges before claim submission.
Track claim status and follow up with payers on pending or denied claims.
Correct and resubmit rejected or denied claims promptly.
Work closely with payment posting and AR teams to reconcile claims and payments.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
Generate daily/weekly billing reports and maintain accurate documentation.
Identify trends in denials and communicate with the team to reduce recurring issues.
Ensure all billing activities are completed within set timelines (SLA/TAT).

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors degree or equivalent (preferably in Commerce, Life Science, or Healthcare).
1–3 years of experience in medical billing (U.S. healthcare process preferred).
Strong understanding of the full RCM cycle (charges, billing, payments, AR, denials).
Knowledge of insurance guidelines, claim forms (CMS-1500, UB-04), and payer portals.
Familiarity with EHR/EMR and billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks).
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
