Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position

Department:

Purpose

• Lead installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of turbines, auxiliaries, and generators.
• Expert handling and maintenance of steam valves (main stop valve, control valve, governing system, etc.).
• Supervise mechanical works at site and ensure compliance with design and drawings.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (electrical, instrumentation, QA/QC, purchase).
• Review engineering documents, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Prepare project schedules, manpower plans, and progress reports.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and site supervisors.

Technical

• In-depth knowledge of turbines (steam/gas), generators, and auxiliaries.
• Expertise in steam valve operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of erection/commissioning procedures and industry codes.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents.
• Familiarity with vibration analysis, alignment, balancing, and condition monitoring.
• MS Office proficiency.

Qualification:

• B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering (masters degree preferred but not mandatory).
• Professional certification in turbine maintenance or related field is a plus.

Experience

• 10 - 12

  years in turbine, generator, and auxiliaries erection/commissioning/maintenance, in power plant.

Location

• Remote, India (As per company requirement).
