No 340, Tamaraikulam, Kinathukadavu Taluk, Pollachi Main Road, Coimbatore 642109 Job Type: Full-time Experience: 5+ years in machine design, with expertise in concept design, heavy machinery design, or SPM design Key Duties and Responsibilities Work hands-on in the design and development of textile machinery and sub-systems. Create concept designs based on functional requirements and market needs. Perform detailed design calculations and simulations to validate product functionality and durability. Collaborate directly with cross-functional teams including Sales, Service, and Production to refine design inputs and outputs. Participate in the evaluation of competitor technologies and suggest design improvements or adaptations. Engage in technology localization and customization of imported machinery and components. Design for manufacturability and support the prototyping, assembly, and testing phases. Troubleshoot design issues and implement iterative improvements based on test results and customer feedback. Liaise with suppliers and the purchase team for component development and validation. Interact with customers during trials, installations, and evaluations to incorporate feedback into design iterations. Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, drawings, BOMs, and reports. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in machine design. Qualifications and Experience Academic: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical or Textile Engineering. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in machine design, preferably in textile machinery or special-purpose machine (SPM) development. Hands-on experience in concept creation, detailed design, and design validation. Desired Skills and Competencies Proficiency in 3D CAD and drafting tools such as Autodesk Inventor, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD. Strong in mechanical fundamentals, design calculations, and static/dynamic analysis. Knowledge of textile machinery components, systems, and operations is a strong advantage. Practical exposure to manufacturing processes and material selection. Effective communication skills in English and regional languages. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Organized, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. Working Conditions Full-time role with flexibility to travel occasionally for customer visits, testing, or installations. Work involves time at the office, manufacturing floor, and field/customer sites as needed. Physical Requirements Technically sound, healthy, well-groomed, and able to work in both office and shop floor environments. Must be adaptable and capable of representing technical ideas to both internal and external stakeholders.
