Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop

  enclosures, structural frames, and mechanical layouts

  for switchgear and switchboards as per

  UL891

  .
• Apply knowledge of

  UL 1558 (Switchgear), UL 891 (Switchboards), UL 508A (Control Panels), and UL 67 (Panelboards)

  to ensure design compliance.
• Ensure compliance with

  enclosure protection, IP/NEMA ratings, and safety requirements

  .
• Address

  thermal management, mechanical strength, and assembly constraints

  .
• Prepare detailed

  2D/3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings

  using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Interpret

  schematics and electrical parameters from a mechanical design perspective

  to ensure proper integration.
• Work closely with electrical designers to deliver fully integrated solutions.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Mechanical Engineering

  .
• 7–10 years’ experience in

  mechanical design for switchgear/switchboards

  .
• Strong expertise in

  CAD/CAE tools including AutoCAD and SolidWorks

  .
• Understanding of

  schematics and electrical parameters

  to support mechanical integration.
• Knowledge of

  heat dissipation, structural strength, and vibration considerations

  .
• Familiarity with

  UL 1558, UL 891, UL 508A, UL 67

  , along with

  CSA and IEC standards

  for switchgear enclosures.
