Role Summary

Senior Managing Director US Tax

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the US Tax service line in India with a focus on Corporations & Partnerships.
  • Drive strategic growth initiatives, practice expansion, and digital innovation for tax services.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of tax professionals in Bengaluru.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert on evolving US Tax regulations.

Client Delivery & Advisory

  • Advise US and multinational clients on corporate and partnership tax matters, including structuring, compliance, planning, and cross-border issues.
  • Oversee preparation and review of US federal and state corporate and partnership returns (Forms 1120, 1065, K-1s, etc.).
  • Provide expertise in areas such as taxable income determinations, partnership allocations, entity structuring, M&A transactions, and international tax considerations (e.g., GILTI, BEAT, FDII).
  • Manage client relationships at senior levels, ensuring top-quality service delivery and long-term trust.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and risk management for client engagements.
  • Implement standard processes, quality checks, and automation tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Partner with global leadership teams to align India operations with firm-wide US Tax objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    CPA, CA, or equivalent advanced degree in Accounting/Taxation/Finance.

  • Experience:

    18+ years of progressive experience in US Tax, with a strong background in corporations and partnerships, including extensive client-facing responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in leadership roles within Big 4, large professional services firms, or multinational in-house tax teams.
  • Deep technical expertise in

    US federal and state taxation

    , with exposure to

    cross-border structuring, M&A, and partnership taxation

    .
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, ASC 740, and tax accounting principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, client relationship management, and team-building skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to drive both growth and operational efficiency.
