As a Senior Manager of Data Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams, as we'll as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other data users within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities. Job responsibilities Provides overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level data engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks Makes strategic decisions that influence teams resources, budget, tactical operations, and implementation of processes and procedures Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise Expertise in database design, infrastructure architecture disciplines, and business processes Database design, development & Admin, Integration, Performance monitoring & tuning, Systems re-engineering and Operations support Experience on Mainframe Db2, Oracle, AWS RDS, and PostgreSQL with Good Knowledge in IBM Infosphere for Queue Replication, Oracle Goldengate, and Mainframe related tools such as BMC, CA Platinum for monitoring, SMPE, ISPF, SMS, SMF Experience in leading modernization efforts with data migration projects & leading teams of data engineers Capable of creating the roadmap, processes, best practices, standards, and strategies for continuous improvement, resiliency, and scalability Experience with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence Ability to guide and coach teams in order to achieve goals aligned to strategic initiatives Experience hiring, developing, and recognizing talent In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems With a proven background on database engineering, automation, monitoring, performance engineering design and implementations Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Strong execution mind-set to manage and track progress against transformation goals Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
