About this role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate Data Engineer or Data Engineering Intern to join our growing data team. In this role, you will assist in building and maintaining our data infrastructure, helping transform raw data into valuable insights that drive business decisions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, building, and optimizing our data pipelines
• Help maintain and troubleshoot Big Data systems
• Write efficient SQL queries to extract and analyze data
• Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing and automation
• Collaborate with businesses, data scientists, and analysts to deliver data solutions
• Participate in data quality assurance processes
• Document data flows and technical specifications

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Big Data systems (Apache Spark, Hive, ZooKeeper)
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and transformation
• Python programming skills for data processing and automation

• Experience with shell scripting for automation tasks

• Understanding of job tuning and performance optimization techniques

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Master of Computer Applications, or related field (or currently pursuing)

• Previous internship or project experience with data technologies

• Familiarity with data modeling concepts
