Senior Manager - Mechanical Maintenance

Job Purpose

To lead and manage mechanical maintenance activities across tyre manufacturing processes including Mixing, Stock Preparation, Tyre Building, and Curing, ensuring high equipment reliability, minimal downtime, cost optimization, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Role & responsibilities

Maintenance Management

Lead end-to-end mechanical maintenance for tyre manufacturing equipment across:

Mixing

Stock Preparation

Tyre Building

Curing (Hydraulic & Mechanical presses)

Ensure maximum equipment availability through preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.

Drive root cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and implement permanent corrective actions.

Reliability & Improvement

Develop and implement PM schedules, condition monitoring, and reliability improvement initiatives.

Support OEE improvement, reduction in MTTR, and increase in MTBF.

Lead equipment upgrades, modifications, and modernization projects.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Ensure skill enhancement, training, and effective manpower deployment across shifts.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Ensure compliance with EHS standards, statutory norms, and company safety policies.

Enforce safe maintenance practices including LOTO, SOP adherence, and permit systems.

Support quality objectives by maintaining process equipment in optimal condition.

Cost & Spares Management

Control maintenance costs through budget planning, spares optimization, and AMC/vendor management.

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and energy efficiency.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Work closely with Production, Quality, Utility, and Projects teams.

Support new equipment installation, commissioning, and stabilization.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidate must have experience of 15 to 22 Years in lead role of tyre Industry mainly in Truck & Bus Radial (TBR) / Passenger Car Radial (PCR)
