Senior Manager / Head - Plant Accounting

Preferably from auto component manufacturing companies, including ones in Electric Vehicle space

Position Purpose:

Senior Leadership position in Finance & Accounts at SGEM which will be responsible for providing operational leadership to Finance & Accounts, Legal functions

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategic

• • Ability to understand mid term business strategy and ability to convert the same into mid term business plan.
• • Ability to get the required support from other functions to prepare such plan, monitor such plan and proactively highlight the key measurables to ensure adherence to the same.
• • Preparation of annual budgets and business plan. Proper Capex and Opex Budgets at plant level and at consolidation level.
• • Able to make accounting systems and processes
• • Actively participate in cross functional business matters

Operations / Audits

• • Manage and lead all accounting operations including Purchase and Sales Accounting, A/R, A/P , Cost Centre Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Stocks reconciliations, vendor partners reconciliation and all allied functions
• • To ensure compliance with internal financial controls, adherence to SOPs
• • Experience in handling imports including liaison with banks/AD, Custom authorities, DGFT etc. Clear understanding of products HSN Codes and related compliances.
• • Independently lead the limited audit review and year end audit with Statutory auditors. At least two years of experience with big 4-6 audit firms in India
• • Monthly finalization of PL/ BS/CF and management reports with multiple plants in very timely manner
• • Person with attitude towards zero tolerance for all applicable statutory compliances
• • Consolidation of Accounts and expense accounting which includes consolidation of accounts for reporting, accurate provisioning, on time audits.
• • Coordination with the Internal and statutory auditors. Ensure that all the pending action points of the last audits are compiled and ensuring that IA observations are not repeated.
• • Statutory Compliance: Ensure monthly. Annual returns related to GST filed before due dates to avoid any penalties. Ensure all other statutory compliances like PF / ESIC/ TDS etc. are done at plant level and coordination with HO Indirect and Direct tax team for monthly quarterly and annual compliances
• • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results. Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments

People

• • Performance management of team, setting goals and coaching, hiring/training and development.

Internal Relationships:

• • Support Sales functions by providing product costing inputs, guidance on customer contracts and dealing with end customers relating to commercial matters
• • Support Purchase functions in terms of inventory management and rate negotiations.
• • He should be escalation for the receivable management.

External Relationships:

• • Dealing with banks, auditors, tax consultants, legal consultants, custom officials, DGFT and other Govt. agencies.
