Job Description

Role Overview

The position will serve as the central EHS for the Entire product Division. This position will lead and coordinate safety, health, and environmental compliance across all 6 plants, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, legal requirements, and industry best practices.

The role involves strategic planning, compliance monitoring, capability building, and continuous improvement in EHS performance. All plant EHS officers will functionally report to this position.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Governance

Act as the single point of contact for EHS matters for all plants.
Facilitate the implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and internal 14 safety standards across the division.
Establish a centralized reporting and review system for all EHS activities, incidents, and compliance status.
Drive a Zero Harm culture through leadership and engagement initiatives.
Drive corporate EHS strategy for the one division (6 Plants), aligning with sustainability goals.
Implement Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) .

2. Compliance & Risk Management

Ensure statutory compliance with national and state-level safety, health, and environmental regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification (HAZID), and HIRA studies for product operations.
Monitor and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS) certifications across plants.

3. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Develop trends of division KPIs (e.g., LTIFR, MTI, Near-Miss reporting) and monitor progress across all plants.
Review incident investigations and ensure corrective & preventive actions are effectively implemented.
Prepare and present monthly EHS performance reports to top management.
Show aggressiveness in the implementation of the safety system and stop operations in case it is unsafe.

4. People Development & Training

Provide functional leadership to plant EHS officers (6 plants) and enhance their capabilities.
Design and conduct training programs on safety culture, legal compliance, and emergency preparedness.
Promote employee engagement in safety through campaigns, toolbox talks, and leadership walkthroughs.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education
: B.E. / B. Tech (Mechanical / Production / Industrial) + Diploma in Industrial Safety (recognized by State Govt. / DGMS / RLI).
Certifications
ISO 45001 Lead Auditor preferred; NEBOSH / IOSH desirable.
Experience
: 1218 years of experience in EHS, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in automotive/heavy engineering/metal forming industries.
Knowledge
: Strong understanding of stamping operations, press shop hazards, and advanced safety practices.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and multi-plant coordination skills.
Deep knowledge of the Indian Factories Act, the Environment Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, etc.
Analytical and problem-solving ability for incident root cause analysis.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Ability to influence plant leadership teams and foster a strong safety culture.

Travel Requirement

Frequent travel to all plants (approximately 3040% of the time).
