Senior Manager, Cost and Operations Accounting

As a Senior Manager of Accounting at Amgen, you will lead and manage a team in the Global Cost & Operations Accounting group. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Providing leadership to the team for executing all accounting and reporting activities such as standard costing, site cost accounting support, Automation tools maintenance, month-end close activities, review of journal entries and account reconciliations, material ledger maintenance, physical inventory count, inventory reserves, and transfer pricing for Amgen's manufacturing network - Partnering with various groups like FP&A, Supply Chain, Corporate Tax, Disbursements, and Technology to ensure proper accounting of inventory - Working with accounting management on the application of US GAAP and company policies - Serving as the lead contact for Corporate External Reporting, Corporate Audit, External Auditors, and Tax Compliance for audit/reporting support and analysis - Leading ERP and automation implementations related to Cost & Operations Accounting Qualifications Required: - Doctorate degree AND 10+ years of finance or cost and inventory accounting experience OR Masters degree AND 12+ years of experience OR Bachelors degree AND 12+ years of experience - 3+ years of managerial experience directly managing people or leading teams/projects/programs - Preferred qualifications include being a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or MBA, along with Audit or Big 4 Public Accounting experience - Strong technical US GAAP knowledge in Inventory, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills - Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with the ability to bridge cultural differences - Detail-oriented with strong business analytical skills, ability to take initiative, work independently in a fast-paced environment, lead projects, work with cross-functional teams, and supervise teams/contractors - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and technology savvy - Experience working with ERP systems, specifically accounting modules like SAP S4/HANA, and industry experience This role will be based at Amgen India in Hyderabad and will report to the Director of Global Accounting Operations.,
