Job Description

As an Operations Manager at Standard Chartered, your role involves being aware of and understanding the Group's business strategy and model. You will be responsible for various aspects of Custody operations, Corporate Actions, Financial Market Operations, and Agent banking. Your key responsibilities will include: - Monitoring if all cut-offs have been met and ensuring that procedures are updated promptly - Having control over pending instructions and following up on them - Tracking, reporting, and escalating errors and volumes daily - Planning effective resourcing of staff during peak times - Facilitating and promoting the understanding of corporate action team requirements - Ensuring staff follow all control measures and implementing new controls as required - Proactively communicating with department heads on operational risk issues - Managing remote teams and influencing stakeholders - Upholding the values of the group and company - Continuously improving productivity to prescribed standards - Providing periodic MIS reporting for key stakeholders - Acting as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the team for audit management - Identifying potential areas for automation and overseeing implementation - Managing risk and compliance in processes Qualifications required for this role include: - 10 to 12 years of relevant work experience - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Experience in corporate action processing and approving transactions - Knowledge of corporate actions and swift message formatting - Strong people management skills - Ability to work closely with IT teams to resolve system issues Your collaborative skills will be essential for working with staff across locations and grades. Ensure all controls and operating procedures are properly followed and comply with established procedures and regulations. Keep track of changes affecting clients and communicate them proactively. In case of serious regulatory breaches, inform senior management promptly and take necessary actions. Display exemplary conduct and adhere to the Group's Values and Code of Conduct. Lead by embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct. Collaborate with key stakeholders such as business partners, Central operations, and GBS SSO Management team.
