Role Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Identification and Assessment:

• Identifying potential risks (legal, financial, reputational, etc.) associated with an organization&aposs operations and assessing their likelihood and potential impact.

• Compliance Program Development and Implementation:

• Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

• Monitoring and Auditing:

• Conducting regular internal audits and reviews to assess the effectiveness of compliance programs and identify areas for improvement.

• Training and Education:

• Providing training and education to employees on compliance requirements and best practices.

• Reporting and Investigation:

• Reporting compliance issues to senior management and regulatory bodies, and investigating potential violations.

• Staying Updated:

• Staying informed about changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications

A Risk and Compliance Officer typically needs a combination of education, relevant experience, and specific skills to effectively manage risks and ensure regulatory compliance within an organization.A bachelor&aposs degree in a related field like law, finance, business administration, or accounting is a common starting point.Further education, like a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Laws (LLM), can be beneficial for more senior roles.Certifications like the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) can also enhance a candidate&aposs qualifications.
