Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior HVAC Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for Cleanroom (Pharma and Non-Pharam), laboratories, operation theaters and industrial projects. This role involves leading design teams, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring HVAC systems meet performance, sustainability, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of HVAC systems, including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork, piping layouts, MEP co-ordination etc.
  • Review and approve HVAC design documents, drawings, and specifications prepared by junior engineers and consultants.
  • Perform detailed engineering analysis of project deliverables of HVAC system.
  • Ensure HVAC system designs comply with relevant codes and standards (ISHRAE, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, local building codes, etc.).
  • Risk Assessment & Value Engineering Identify risks, suggest mitigation strategies, and perform

    to optimize designs.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of HVAC systems to ensure design intent and performance requirements are met.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Collaborate with architects, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams to coordinate HVAC design requirements.
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, and cost estimation related to HVAC and MEP scope.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC system issues in existing buildings or during project execution.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 5-7 years of experience in HVAC system design, project management and MEP co-ordination.
  • Professional License:

    PE (Professional Engineer) or equivalent certification would have advantage.
  • Software Proficiency:

    AutoCAD, heat load/airflow calculation tools HAP (added advantage), Psychrometric calculations and knowledge on Revit/Navisworks and MS office 365.
  • Knowledge:

    In-depth understanding of HVAC system components, control systems, and energy management principles.
  • Certifications (preferred not compulsory):

    LEED AP or IGBC AP, or similar credentials.
