Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer

As a Senior Geotechnical Design Engineer at our client's textile processing unit in Ahmedabad, you will play a crucial role in designing Reinforced Earth walls using polyester geogrids and pavement systems with polypropylene geogrids. Your expertise will contribute to high-performance, cost-optimized, and sustainable infrastructure projects. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications required for this role: **Roles & Responsibilities:** - Conduct geotechnical site investigations including borehole drilling, sampling, and testing. - Interpret lab and field test results to identify critical soil behaviors. - Design Reinforced Earth walls using polyester geogrids and conduct stability checks. - Utilize software such as Geo5, MSEW, REWall for design alignment with standards. - Design flexible pavement systems with PP geogrid reinforcement and optimize thickness and cost. - Propose and design soil stabilization using lime, cement, geotextiles, or other methods. - Prepare technical documentation like design reports, BOQs, and technical specifications. - Coordinate with engineers from various disciplines, participate in technical review meetings, and interact with stakeholders. - Ensure compliance with relevant codes and identify geotechnical risks for risk mitigation. **Required Qualifications:** - B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Civil, Geotechnical, or Structural Engineering. - 5-15 years of hands-on experience in RE wall and pavement design. - Proficiency in Geo5, MSEW, CIRCLY, KenPave, PLAXIS, or similar tools. - Familiarity with relevant codes such as IRC, AASHTO, MORTH, IS, ASTM, FHWA, BS8006. **Preferred Attributes:** - Practical understanding of on-site construction practices. - Strong documentation and technical writing skills. - Exposure to BIM workflows or CAD-based detailing is an added advantage. - Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented mindset. - Passion for sustainable and value-engineered infrastructure solutions. **Work Ethic & Values:** - Ability to work independently or in a remote/hybrid team. - Commitment to high-quality deliverables and effective communication. - Willingness to learn, mentor, and uphold professional values. **Travel Expectations:** - Occasional site visits may be required to validate design inputs and ensure on-ground feasibility.
