Senior Firmware Engineer

As a Senior Firmware Engineer at AMD, you will have the exciting opportunity to work on a dynamic team dedicated to firmware development across a wide range of AMD's product lines. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to ROM based firmware for next-generation interconnect and chiplet technologies - Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including BIOS, architecture, design, emulation, and verification to deliver SOC solutions - Develop low-level firmware for embedded systems in a bare metal environment - Create robust sequences that are easy to debug and reuse - Participate in pre-silicon validation activities such as co-simulation with IP and SOC emulation - Support post-silicon enablement and debugging efforts - Share architectural concepts with the firmware team to maximize reuse potential Requirements: - Proficiency in C with strong skills in C++ or Python - Hands-on experience with end-to-end firmware development from pre-silicon to production cycle - Demonstrated expertise in firmware lab debug, triaging, and implementing bug fixes for silicon bring-up - Familiarity with Linux build environment Preferred Qualifications: - 5 years of experience in device driver or embedded firmware development - Knowledge of software engineering practices - Exposure to RTL or Verification concepts - Ability to work independently under tight deadlines with minimal supervision - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Understanding of hardware and software system integration - Experience with firmware integration testing and debugging in pre and post silicon environments - Familiarity with technologies such as PCIE, UCIE, or others - Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and Windows Educational Credentials: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, or Computer Science In this role at AMD, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that are shaping the future of AI and beyond.
