Job Description

As a Senior Enterprise Fellow at the NIHR Specialist Centre for Public Health Research Support Service Hub at the University of Southampton and Partners, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality research design advice and support to investigators applying for research funding, with a particular focus on research outside of NHS settings. Your expertise in public health research/epidemiology will be utilized to guide researchers through the process of developing funding applications, especially for NIHR funding programmes. Some key responsibilities in this role include: - Providing research design advice and support to investigators applying for research funding, particularly NIHR funding programmes. - Offering guidance on how to deliver the public health/epidemiological aspects of an applied research study. - Utilizing your expertise in any area of public health research/epidemiology to support researchers effectively. - Demonstrating excellent communication and consultation skills to effectively collaborate with researchers. Qualifications required for this role: - Experience in public health research, preferably with a focus on research outside of NHS settings. - Understanding of what is required to produce high-quality research funding applications. - Familiarity with the NIHRs Public Health Research (PHR) Programme would be advantageous. - Strong knowledge of public health research/epidemiology principles. The Research Support Service (RSS) at the University of Southampton is a part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides access to research support, advice, design, and collaboration for researchers working across the NIHR remit in England. The RSS Hub at the University of Southampton is designated as an NIHR RSS Specialist Centre in Public Health and collaborates with partner organizations to support researchers in various areas of health research.
