Senior Engineering Manager

As an experienced engineer, you will have ownership of the team and product. You will be tasked with creating a B2C product that will impact the lives of millions of users. Your role will involve improving the current architecture and building for the future. Additionally, you will closely collaborate with the product team to execute the roadmap. Your time will be divided with 70% dedicated to coding and 30% to managing. It is important to work closely with your reporting line to cultivate a strong engineering culture and be accountable for the team's output. Key Responsibilities: - Take ownership of the team and product - Create a B2C product with a wide user base - Enhance the current architecture and plan for the future - Collaborate closely with the product team to execute the roadmap - Code 70% of the time and manage 30% of the time - Build and nurture a great engineering culture - Focus on team output rather than personal output - Participate in hiring and mentoring activities Qualifications Required: - A strong background in engineering - Demonstrated care for the team, users, product, and organization - Minimum 8 years of experience with at least 2 years in a management role - Experience in end-to-end product development - Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Golang, Nodejs Good to have: - Previous experience in a similar role - Prior work with a tech startup - Process-oriented mindset with a focus on real-time development to production releases - Understanding of coding conventions and when to deviate from them As part of this role, you can expect to work in a hybrid setup from Mumbai. This will involve working from the office for 3 days and working from home for 2 days per week. You will be responsible for building highly scalable products that you can take pride in, using a cool tech stack.
