Senior Engineer - Mechanical

RPG Group Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, development, and execution of Module Mounting Structures (MMS) for solar photovoltaic (PV) projects. The candidate will be responsible for the structural and mechanical design aspects of MMS for utility-scale and C&I solar projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and performance. Key Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate the design of Module Mounting Structures (Fixed Tilt and/or Tracker-based). Perform structural analysis and mechanical calculations considering wind, snow, and seismic loads (as per IS, IEC, or ASCE standards). Review and prepare structural drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOMs. Collaborate with civil, electrical, and project teams to ensure integrated design solutions. Evaluate and select MMS vendors, materials, and fabrication partners. Conduct site assessments and provide support during installation and commissioning. Optimize MMS designs for cost, durability, and ease of installation. Prepare technical documentation and design reports for client and internal reviews. Support tender and business development teams by providing engineering inputs and BOQs. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations (IS, IEC, ASTM, etc.). Key Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of structural and mechanical design related to solar MMS.Proficiency in design software like STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and PVSyst (for mounting optimization). Familiarity with international standards and wind load codes (IS 875, ASCE 7, Eurocode, etc.). Experience in steel structure fabrication, hot-dip galvanization, and material selection. Strong project coordination and cross-functional collaboration skills.Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
