Role & responsibilities This job description is for a Senior Engineer Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Design & Detailing role focused on turbomachinery systems . Job Purpose Perform detailed I&C engineering tasks. Deliver design work for clients/other functions on time , within budget , and at high quality . Key Responsibilities Use of COMOS: Interpret input documents. Prepare various engineering deliverables using the software. Design & Documentation: Develop P&IDs , instrument lists , hook-up drawings , loop diagrams , JB layouts , etc. Ensure alignment with international codes like ANSI, IEC, IS, API, European Standards . Instrumentation Selection: Choose field instruments based on specs , area classifications (like hazardous areas), and regulations . Supplier Coordination: Review and approve supplier documents. Provide technical input to procurement. Team Support: Mentor junior engineers via on-the-job training . Act as a Key User for COMOS, coordinating with admin teams to ensure smooth tool usage. Company Expectations Follow company policies (code of conduct, health & safety). Be proactive and efficient. Adapt and take on tasks as needed. Key Competencies Technical: Knowledge of turbomachinery, field instrumentation, PLC/DCS, standards, and COMOS. Soft Skills: Communication, teamwork, self-organization, time management, stress handling, reliability. Other Skills: ERP familiarity, cross-functional coordination, documentation precision. Required Experience 5–8 years in Instrumentation Engineering. At least 3–4 years on turbomachinery systems . Must be an expert in COMOS . Strong understanding of rotating machinery and control systems. Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent. Ideal Personality Traits Self-driven, proactive, responsible. Creative, open, practical. Good at time management and handling pressure. Summary This role is best suited for an experienced Instrumentation Engineer with a strong background in turbomachinery and deep familiarity with COMOS.
