Job Title: Design Sr. Manager/Head Department: Design & Engineering Location: Mumbai Experience: 812 years (depending on level) Employment Type: Full-time Position Overview: We are seeking a Sr. Manager with deep technical expertise in Low Voltage (LV) and Automation Systems, including BMS, Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, PA, Lighting Control, and Mechanical Fire Protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, gas suppression). The candidate will drive design innovation, ensure compliance, and collaborate across functions to deliver high-performance systems for data canters, smart buildings, commercial, healthcare, and industrial infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design & Engineering: Develop detailed engineering designs for LV, ELV, and automation systems aligned with client needs, standards, and integration plans. Prepare detailed system architecture, layout drawings, BOQs, I/O lists, schematic diagrams, panel drawings, and cable schedules. Ensure all designs are in compliance with relevant codes (NFPA, NBC, IS, IEC standards) and global best practices. 2. Solutioning & Technical Proposals: Prepare technical submittals, design briefs, shop drawings, BOQs, riser diagrams, and IFC documentation. Participate in client meetings, presentations, and technical clarifications. Support tendering/RFP documentation with technical inputs, equipment selection, and compliance matrices. 3. Product Selection & Value Engineering Coordination: Select system components (control panels, field devices, cables, instruments) based on functionality, OEM specs, and project economics. Coordinate across MEP disciplines, architects, OEMs, consultants, and procurement for design optimization. 4. Team Leadership & Review: Mentor junior engineers and CAD designers in best practices, technical documentation, and tool usage. Conduct technical reviews and sign-off on all engineering documents and submittals before release. 5. Tools & Technology: Proficient in AutoCAD, EPLAN, Navisworks, Revit (BIM), Dialux Exposure to BMS/HVAC systems, PLC/SCADA, Modbus, BACnet, KNX, DALI, and IoT- based smart building technologies. Technical Skills Project/Soft Skills System Architecture & Design (ELV, BMS, Security, Fire) Strong communication and client-handling Controls Engineering (PLC, DDC, SCADA) Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Willing to travel if required. Knowledge of OEM Platforms Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration Proficiency in SLDs, Schematics, BOQ & Layouts Problem-solving and value engineering Compliance & Code Knowledge (NFPA, NBC, IS, IEC) Attention to detail and documentation accuracy Qualifications: B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field. Key Responsibilities: 1. Strategic Procurement & Vendor Management • Source, evaluate, and onboard vendors for MEP, automation, and system integration projects. • Negotiate terms, pricing, delivery schedules, and payment conditions to achieve cost savings. • Develop and maintain a preferred supplier list, ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards. • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews against KPIs. 2. Purchase Order Management & Coordination • Create and process purchase orders aligned with project timelines and technical specifications. • Track order status and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services. • Liaise with site teams, engineering, and project managers for material requirement planning. 3. Costing & Budgeting Support • Collaborate with finance and project teams to prepare cost estimates for tenders and bids. • Maintain cost databases for frequently procured materials and services. • Assist in project budgeting, cost control, and variance analysis. • Support bid evaluation and techno-commercial comparisons. 4. Inventory & Stock Control • Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking. • Coordinate with warehouses and site teams for inventory reconciliation. • Forecast material requirements based on consumption trends and pipeline projects. 5. Compliance & Documentation • Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, statutory requirements, and contractual obligations. • Maintain organized documentation for audits, contracts, and supplier agreements. • Support GST/TDS-related requirements in procurement transactions. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with Project, Finance, Engineering, and Logistics teams for seamless procurement execution. • Support logistics coordination to ensure timely delivery to project sites. • Participate in cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality. Qualifications & Experience: • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related discipline (mandatory). • Additional qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Costing preferred. • 57 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, and costing in MEP, EPC, automation, or infrastructure projects. • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), MS Excel, and procurement tools. • Strong understanding of commercial terms, GST, and vendor compliance processes.
