Senior Engineer - Components (Instrumentation)

You will be responsible for developing the Instrument Design Basis/Philosophy, performing Instrument Sizing calculations, and staying familiar with standards such as ISA, IEC, ASME, CE, UL, and others related to the field. Your role will include knowledge on Hazardous Area Classifications, ATEX, IP ratings, and reviewing vendors/sub-vendors technical drawings/documents. You will also be involved in Procurement Engineering within stipulated project timelines, coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and supply chain to ensure timely document reviews with required quality level. Additionally, you will recommend testing protocols, estimate labor and materials for testing, and collaborate with other lab engineers on interdisciplinary teams for complex test programs. Key Responsibilities: - Develop Instrument Design Basis/Philosophy - Perform Instrument Sizing calculations - Familiarity with ISA, IEC, ASME, CE, UL, and other related standards - Review vendors/sub-vendors technical drawings/documents - Perform Procurement Engineering within project timelines - Recommend testing protocols and estimate labor and materials for testing - Collaborate with other lab engineers on interdisciplinary teams for complex test programs - Ensure all safety requirements are met - Write detailed test procedures and reports - Review test programs and results to ensure requirements are met - Field failure analysis and root cause analysis - Developing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies - Troubleshooting various instruments such as Pressure transmitters, Thermocouples, Level switches and transmitters, Hydrogen and oxygen sensors Qualifications Required: - B.E in Instrumentation/ Mechanical Engineering background - Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in instrument component selection and testing - Experience in the renewable energy sector is a plus - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively The Senior components engineer is responsible for data sheet specification, selection, application, testing, and qualification of hardware including pressure/temperature/ flow/ level instruments, VFDs, control valves. You will provide troubleshooting and reliability improvements for test labs and field services units to maintain safety, availability, and reliability of instrumentation systems while optimizing cost.
