Description
As a Senior Designer - Electrical at Petrofac, your role involves modeling and drafting layouts for offshore platforms. You will guide and lead a team of designers in various design, modeling, and drafting activities for projects, including FEED and/or Proposal work estimates, procurement support activities, and fabrication and construction requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Review ITT (Invitation To Tender) documents, evaluate drafting scope, prepare/review Bill of Material, and identify technical queries (TQs) as applicable. - Prepare and review estimates like Bill of quantities, Man-hours, and Software requirements during proposals/projects. - Provide engineering input to proposals, collate inputs for Technical Document Register (TDR), and review relevant design guidelines and specifications. - Plan/schedule designing, drafting, and modeling activities, develop manpower histograms, and recommend cost-effective measures to reduce overall manpower costs. - Perform and/or review design calculations, organize and direct preparation of design and drafting deliverables, and coordinate with projects/planning departments on schedule related to drafting deliverables. - Interface with client representatives, ensure project progress aligns with schedule and budget, and participate in various review meetings. - Coordinate quality assurance activities, monitor Material Take Off (MTO) activities, and provide technical support to construction sites during fabrication and installation. - Participate in employee performance evaluations, promote safety awareness, and perform related duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications and Skills: - Associate Diploma holder in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 8 to 15 years of related Petroleum/petrochemical industry experience. - Minimum 2-3 years of offshore oil & gas industry experience, with added advantage in Offshore HVAC/HVDC Substation platform layouts. - Hands-on experience with 3D modeling using software like PDS, PDMS, Smart Plant 3D, Smart Plant Electrical, etc. - Working knowledge of relevant International codes & standards and clear concept on typical offshore platforms designs.
