Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for commercial mixed-use buildings including data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, IT rooms, and mission-critical infrastructure
• Develop comprehensive electrical systems design including HV/LV distribution, power systems, UPS, DG sets, and backup power solutions
• Prepare detailed engineering deliverables: single line diagrams, load calculations, cable schedules, cable sizing, transformer sizing, earthing & lightning protection systems
• Conduct technical due diligence reviews for existing facilities and new construction projects
• Ensure compliance with Indian codes and standards (NBC, IS codes, CEA regulations, CPWD specifications)
• Design energy-efficient electrical systems in compliance with BEE (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) norms, ECBC (Energy Conservation Building Code)
• Support green building certification processes - LEED, IGBC, GRIHA ratings
• Perform power quality analysis, harmonic studies, load flow analysis, and short circuit studies using ETAP/DIgSILENT
• Design ELV systems including fire alarm, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and BMS integration
• Coordinate with architects, MEP consultants, and project stakeholders for integrated design delivery
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and ensure quality compliance during execution
• Prepare technical specifications, BOQ, and tender documents

Desired Candidate Profile

• B.E/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of experience in electrical design consultancy
• Mandatory experience in at least ONE of these segments: Data Centers, Pharmaceutical facilities, IT Rooms, or mission-critical infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of Indian electrical codes: NBC Part 8, IS 732, IS 3043, IS/IEC 60364, CEA (Measures) Regulations 2010
• Hands-on experience with energy efficiency codes: BEE star rating, ECBC compliance, energy modeling
• Working knowledge of green building certifications: LEED (BD+C), IGBC, GRIHA documentation and MEP credit requirements
• Proficiency in electrical design software: AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, DIgSILENT, Dialux, cable sizing tools
• Experience in technical due diligence, design reviews, and peer review of electrical systems
• Strong understanding of power distribution systems, redundancy concepts (N, N+1, 2N), and reliability standards
• Knowledge of data center standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute tiers) or pharma facility requirements (Schedule M, GMP) is highly preferred
• Excellent technical documentation skills and ability to prepare comprehensive design reports
• Strong coordination and communication skills for multi-disciplinary project environments
• Chartered Engineer (IE India) certification is an added advantage
