Job Title:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Expertise:

    Develop and manage ECAD library smart” symbols, defining pin types, pin properties, and component types accurately.
  • Design and Development:

    Analyze component datasheets and input metadata to enable automated schematic validation against design criteria.
  • Quality Assurance:

    Ensure ECAD symbols and library components meet internal quality standards, IPC standards, JEDEC, and industry best practices (DFM/DFA).
  • Problem Solving:

    Troubleshoot and resolve ECAD component issues, including those related to Cadence EDM/Pulse databases and related tools.
  • Documentation:

    Maintain accurate documentation of ECAD library parts within the Cadence EDM/Pulse environment. Update process documents as required.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Collaborate with hardware engineers, SI/PI teams, mechanical engineers, and component engineers to ensure accurate ECAD representation in system designs.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    Actively participate in DFM/DFA reviews and propose enhancements to standards, methodologies, and ECAD processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain ECAD “smart” symbols using Cadence tools, ensuring accurate pin/property definitions and metadata.
  • Analyze component datasheets and accurately transfer data into ECAD logical symbols.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of library parts and ECAD processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of ECAD symbols in hardware designs.
  • Identify and implement improvements in ECAD library development processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in ECAD library symbol creation and Cadence library management.
  • Proficiency in

    Cadence PCB design tools

    : Allegro, EDM/Pulse, Part Developer, System Capture (or DE HDL).
  • Strong knowledge of ECAD symbol structure, pin definitions, schematic audit techniques, and datasheet interpretation.
  • Understanding of

    DFM/DFA constraints

    and compliance with IPC, JEDEC, and internal quality standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail for precision in data entry and compliance.

Mandatory Skills / Must-Have Requirements:

  1. Strong experience in ECAD symbol creation (Logical & Physical) using

    Cadence/Allegro tools

    .
  2. Deep knowledge of

    DFM/DFA constraints

    .
  3. Familiarity with internal quality processes,

    IPC standards

    , and

    JEDEC

    compliance for part creation.
  4. Proficiency in:
    • Cadence Allegro

    • EDM/Pulse

    • Part Developer

    • System Capture / DE HDL

  5. Experience with

    Schematic Audit / CheckPlus

    for automated schematic validation.
  6. Ability to read and translate

    electronic component datasheets

    into logical symbol data.
