Role Overview

The Senior Design Lead will head the design function for corporate/commercial interior projects, driving design excellence, innovation, client engagement, and seamless coordination with project delivery teams. The role demands strong leadership, client-facing capability, and deep technical expertise in workplace design.

Key Responsibilities

Design Leadership & Strategy

• Lead end-to-end design development for large-scale corporate/commercial interior projects
  
• Define design vision, concepts, and standards aligned with client brief, brand, budget, and timelines
  
• Ensure compliance with Vestian design guidelines, local building codes, and statutory regulations
  

Client Engagement

• Act as the primary design SPOC for clients and stakeholders
  
• Conduct client presentations, design reviews, and design sign-offs
  
• Translate client requirements into innovative, functional, and cost-effective design solutions
  

Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of designers, architects, and 3D visualizers
  
• Allocate work, review outputs, and ensure high-quality deliverables
  
• Build capability within the design team and drive best practices
  

Design Development & Coordination

• Oversee preparation of space planning, concept designs, schematic designs, GFC drawings, and BOQs
  
• Coordinate closely with project management, MEP, QS, and execution teams to ensure design intent is achieved on-site
  
• Resolve design-related issues during construction and site execution
  

Quality, Cost & Timelines

• Ensure designs are value-engineered without compromising quality or aesthetics
  
• Monitor adherence to project budgets and timelines during the design phase
  
• Review material specifications, mock-ups, and samples
  

Innovation & Market Awareness

• Stay updated with workplace trends, sustainable design practices, and new materials
  
• Promote innovative and sustainable design solutions (LEED/IGBC exposure preferred)
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in corporate workplace / commercial interior design
  
• Excellent client-facing, presentation, and communication skills
  
• Proven leadership and team management capability
  
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing
  
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
  
• Revit / BIM (preferred)
  
• SketchUp, Enscape / Lumion / V-Ray
  
• Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
  
• MS Office & project documentation tools
