Senior Design Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible for creating Surface Modeling & 3D Modelling in cad tool like Solidworks (mandatory)
• Good understanding of Product Design and Product Development Includes Plastic Components, Sheet Metals Casting, etc. (mandatory)
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools - Solidworks (mandatory)
• Responsible for setting design requirements in the form of product specification based on Design Brief/ Input
• Responsible for achieving TRM & PRM targets of the division in stipulated time
• Managing design projects individually right from concept stage to industrialization.
• Manage a team of design engineers.
• Responsible for Concept Design and Innovation
• Studies drawings and prepare feasibility report on enhancement of existing products
• Responsible for Mold/Tool Design Finalization with respect of Product Engineering Design
• Responsible for conducting DFMEA, FMEA, PFMEA, DFM & QFD
• Responsible for creating Drawing Standards and GD&T

Preferred Experience

• Analyze how a new product ties in with market needs and consumer preferences
• Carries out prototype testing and validation through R&D team. Analyses and documents test results
• Cost Innovations of existing products.
• Aligning to the corporate TRM & PRM policy
• Time-management and Problem solving
• Responsible for material selection and Manufacturing Process for the products designed.
• Carries out product cost analysis and looks for alternative components / raw materials for cost reduction purposes
• Support to Central Service, NPD, Quality and CFT
• Market research on new trends, launches, colours.

Job Requirements

1. Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in Product Design and Product Development in Home appliances/Electrical/Automotive or allied product category.

2. Diploma / B Tech or Equivalent (Mechanical Design / Product Design /Tool design)

3. Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools

4. knowledge in DFMEA, FMEA, PFMEA, DFM & QFD

5. knowledge of Surface Modeling & 3D Modelling (Solidworks, AutoCAD)

6. Good understanding in Mold/Tool Design Fundamentals

7. Knowledge in Concept Design and Innovation methods

8. Good Communication skills

9. knowledge in PLM is an added advantage

10. knowledge in FEA/Mold Flow/CFD is an added advantage

11. Should be ready to travel extensively
