Senior Design Engineer

Job Purpose

He / She will be responsible for developing and detailing product/component designs that meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements. The role includes 3D modeling, drafting, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to support product development from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain detailed drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and specifications.
• Support documentation for prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
• Ensure data is stored and maintained properly in PLM or ERP systems.
• Work closely with senior designers, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Support prototype builds and product testing activities.
• Assist in design change implementation and engineering change orders (ECOs).
• Adhere to internal design guidelines, customer specifications, and industry standards.
• Support DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) considerations in design work.

Experience

5 - 10 years of experience in the design or product development role.

Required Skill

• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Good understanding of basic mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Basic knowledge of materials and component-level testing.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and teamwork orientation.

Qualification

B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical / Production / Design Engineering.
