Senior Design Engineer

You will be responsible for designing and developing products while ensuring full validation against technical specifications. In this role, you will independently manage engineering tasks, mentor junior team members, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and uphold quality and compliance standards throughout the product lifecycle. Your work will involve evaluating customer inquiries and specifications, designing equipment, refining and improving product designs, interpreting industry codes and standards, performing tolerance stack-up analysis, and more. You will also be required to monitor project performance parameters, communicate progress updates to customers, participate in design reviews, resolve technical queries, and mentor junior engineers. Additionally, you will contribute to improving existing engineering processes and demonstrate a high level of initiative to accomplish individual and team objectives. - Evaluate customer inquiries & specifications and study all inputs available for a product or design problem - Design equipment to match specifications including concept creation, detailed design, calculations, manufacturing drawings, bill of materials, and technical documents - Establish design approach, estimate time for execution, and schedule activities - Refine and improve product designs, interpret & use industry codes & standards, perform tolerance stack-up analysis - Review design specifications, test procedures, models, drawings, and calculation reports - Handle technical changes and new releases in PLM/PDM systems, monitor project performance parameters - Communicate progress updates to customers, ensure engineering deliveries with required quality and schedule - Participate in design reviews, resolve technical queries, mentor junior engineers, contribute to improving engineering processes - Provide technical guidance on areas of expertise, lead/guide/mentor a team on a specific task/project - Graduation (bachelor's degree) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of four years of relevant industry experience - OR - - Post-Graduation (master's degree) in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of two years of relevant industry experience Desired Qualifications: - Intermediate to Expert level user of SolidWorks and PLM/PDM software - Strong Knowledge of at least one relevant Mechanical industry codes/standards (e.g., ASME, DNV, API, AISC etc.) - Basic knowledge of AutoCAD & any calculations software - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Oceaneering India Center has been an integral part of Oceaneering's operations since 2003, catering to diverse business needs globally.
