Senior Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain

  MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL

  database systems across development, staging, and production environments.
• Engineer, implement, and manage robust

  backup and recovery solutions

  , including

  replication and failover

  strategies for disaster recovery.
• Continuously

  monitor database performance

  , identify bottlenecks, and conduct tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and low latency.
• Ensure

  database implementations align with established standards

  , security policies, and best practices.
• Design, test, and validate database solutions to ensure they meet functional and technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain

  database solutions optimized for cloud-based shared environments

  , including infrastructure-as-code (IaC) where applicable.
• Collaborate with

  project managers and engineering teams

  to support the implementation and long-term configuration management of databases.
• Lead and execute

  configuration change activities

  as part of deployment and maintenance processes in shared database environments.
• Create and maintain

  technical documentation

  and

  configuration records

  to support efficient knowledge sharing and auditing requirements.
• Author

  knowledge base articles and SOPs

  to assist

  Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams

  with common incident responses and resolution workflows.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a DBA with a focus on

  MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent NoSQL systems

• Strong understanding of

  replication

  ,

  clustering

  high-availability architectures

  .
• Proven experience in

  performance tuning

  ,

  query optimization

  , and

  index management

  .
• Solid knowledge of

  backup/recovery procedures

  disaster recovery planning

• Experience working in

  cloud-first or hybrid cloud environments

  .
• Familiarity with

  DevOps practices

  , automation, and tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
• Excellent documentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience supporting

  containerized environments

  (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)
• Exposure to

  configuration management tools

  (e.g., Puppet, Chef)
• Understanding of

  database security best practices

  and

  role-based access controls

• Ability to script in Bash, Python, or similar for administrative automation tasks
