Senior Database Administrator

As a Database Management & Maintenance professional at UST in Trivandrum, you will be responsible for performing various activities related to MSSQL, MongoDB, MySQL-RDS, and PostgreSQL databases. This includes tasks such as build, upgrade, patching, migration, and maintenance activities. Additionally, you will configure and execute disaster recovery processes, monitor database job failures, and ensure high availability. You will need to handle multiple assignments efficiently while delivering high-quality solutions simultaneously. Your mandatory skills should include hands-on experience in MSSQL administration, Goldengate for data replication, Oracle Enterprise Manager for database monitoring, and expertise in Always On, Log Shipping, and Replication of MSSQL databases. You should also be proficient in provisioning, configuring, and maintaining MSSQL, MongoDB, MySQL-RDS, and PostgreSQL databases, especially for large databases exceeding 3TB in size. Cloud & Automation Expertise is crucial for this role, with a strong understanding of GCP, AWS, and Azure environments. Experience with Database as a Service (DBaaS) using AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, and equivalent services is essential. Hands-on experience with version control and automation tools like Praxis and GitHub is also required. Preferred skills for this position include experience with multi-cloud environments, managing hybrid databases, scripting, and automation to optimize database management. You should also be capable of designing, implementing, and monitoring high-availability and disaster recovery solutions. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with over 10 years of professional experience in MSSQL/MongoDB/MySQL database administration. Additionally, certifications such as ITIL certification for process-oriented database management, MSSQL/MongoDB/MySQL database certifications, and AWS or GCP cloud certification are preferred.
