Job Description

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead our data science initiatives in India. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader with extensive proficiency in applied mathematics, statistics, and data science techniques. You will set the strategic direction, define best practices, and champion the role of data science in driving our business priorities.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Science Innovation: Drive the strategic vision for data science, leading cross functional teams in designing and implementing advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex business challenges. Oversee the development and deployment of scalable data science products that align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value.
Data Engineering and Manipulation: Collaborate with data engineers to design robust, scalable data pipelines. Ensure data is cleansed, prepared, and transformed effectively before being utilized in data science products, adhering to best practices and organizational standards.
Delivering Business Impact: Champion the role of data science within the organization by identifying opportunities to deliver data science products that support organizational objectives. Collaborate across the organization to fulfill meaningful goals and take responsibility for delivering scalable data science solutions.
Ethics and Privacy: Oversee compliance with data ethics standards and legislation. Develop and manage the ethical framework for how data and machine learning techniques are used across the organization, ensuring that data governance complies with relevant legislation and standards.
Collaboration and Communication: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data science processes to facilitate knowledge sharing. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate complex data science concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Research and Innovation: Stay ahead of emerging data science trends and contribute to enhancing team capabilities through research and experimentation. Act as a leader in exploring new data science techniques and approaches for future projects.

WHO YOU ARE:

Educational Background: You hold a masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, or a bachelors degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Experience: You have a proven track record as a Data Scientist or in a similar role, with extensive experience in developing and deploying statistical models and data science solutions.
Leadership: You have demonstrated impact through leadership in previous roles. Colleagues appreciate your coaching and mentoring, and you have played a key role in building up organizations.
Technical Proficiency: You are proficient in programming languages such as Python or R, with strong knowledge of data science libraries and frameworks (eg, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, pandas) and familiarity with big data technologies (eg, Hadoop, Spark).
Skills: You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment. Your organizational skills enable you to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Communication: You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
