Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist at PitchBook, you will play a crucial role in leveraging cutting-edge machine learning and cloud technologies to automatically research private markets and enhance the navigability of the PitchBook Platform. Your primary responsibilities will include: - Utilizing your strong understanding of data to enhance decision-making and provide insights through various data analysis techniques such as acquiring, processing, and wrangling data from multiple sources using tools like ETL, APIs, and data visualization. - Applying various modeling techniques and fusing data sources through pre-processing methods, including transformation and normalization, to extract insights for informed business decisions. - Developing and optimizing machine learning & deep learning models, such as regression, classifiers, and ensemble techniques, in addition to working on NLP tasks like Summarization and Sentiment Analysis. - Demonstrating proficiency in advanced statistical analysis methods like regression analysis and hypothesis testing, along with the ability to creatively solve problems and align data projects with strategic objectives. - Possessing strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex data insights to stakeholders and manage projects efficiently. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields. - 4+ years of experience in building predictive models and working with NLP and Python in a production environment. - Experience using complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation. - Strong problem-solving ability and communication skills. - Familiarity with various data science tools and the ability to interpret moderately complex scripts.
