Description
Key Responsibilities: Develop and deploy predictive, prescriptive, and advanced analytics models using statistical, optimization, and machine learning techniques to solve complex AEC business problems. Conduct rigorous exploratory data analysis (EDA) and apply statistical methods to uncover trends, relationships, and patterns in data. Design and implement optimization models, including linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and other advanced mathematical optimization techniques. Design and implement machine learning models and statistical methods tailored to domain- specific challenges. Collaborate with Data Engineers, AI/ML Engineers, and domain experts to frame problems and deliver actionable solutions. Translate complex data science and optimization solutions into actionable business insights through effective communication and visualization. Lead the evaluation and integration of advanced statistical software and tools to expand analytical capabilities. Ensure adherence to ethical standards in AI and data science, maintaining transparency and accountability in all activities. Stay abreast of the latest developments and advancements, including new and emerging technologies & best practices and new tools & software applications and how they could impact CDM Smith. Assist with the development of documentation, standards, best practices, and workflows for data technology hardware/software in use across the business. Perform other duties as required. Skills and Abilities: Strong expertise in statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, machine learning and advanced inferential and analytics techniques. Proficiency in optimization methods such as linear programming, integer programming, and metaheuristics (e.g., genetic algorithms, simulated annealing).Advanced programming skills in Python and R, with experience in libraries like StatsModels, SciPy, PuLP or Pyomo for optimization. Strong SQL skills for querying and managing structured and unstructured data. Familiarity with big data platforms such as Databricks and distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark. Knowledge of data visualization tools and methods to present complex findings effectively to diverse audiences. Proficiency in designing and conducting controlled experiments (e.g., A/B testing) and interpreting their results. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills to identify and address technical challenges effectively. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to build strategic relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners. Strong critical thinking skills to generate innovative solutions and improve business processes.Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non- technical audiences. Detail oriented with the ability to assist with executing highly complex or specialized projects. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree. 6 years of related experience. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
