Senior Data Engineering Manager

**Job Description** **Role Overview:** At Flutter Entertainment, we are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Data and Platforms team within the Flutter Functions Global Platforms department. As the Engineering Manager, you will lead a squad focused on the Global Sportsbook and Trading business vertical. Your role will involve collaborating with the Product Owner to guide a multi-disciplinary team through the Product Delivery Lifecycle, from planning to deployment. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of high-quality, results-oriented delivery and ensuring clear communication, alignment, and performance management within the team. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Leadership & People:** - Nurture a culture of high-quality, results-oriented delivery. - Ensure clear communication and alignment within the team. - Coach team members through regular 1:1s and assist with career development. - Proactively identify initiatives to improve the engineer experience. - Work with Talent Teams to recruit the best people for your squad. - **Data Engineering:** - Lead the design and implementation of scalable data infrastructure and pipelines. - Ensure data integrity, availability, and security. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. - Drive innovation in data processing technologies. - Maintain accurate documentation for data solutions. - **Delivery:** - Work closely with Product and Delivery to deliver the roadmap. - Balance business needs with technical design. - Communicate delivery status to stakeholders and develop mitigation strategies. - Ensure quality is a priority in the engineering process. - Monitor delivery velocity and promptly address any issues. - **Ownership:** - Take responsibility for the solution and remove obstacles for the team. - Develop real-time monitoring and logging strategies. - Ensure operational support of Data products. - Collaborate with other squads to align roadmaps. **Qualifications Required:** - Extensive experience in data engineering and leading multi-disciplinary teams. - Ability to influence and drive change, ensuring high-quality outcomes. - Understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance regulations. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. - Experience in supporting career development plans and fostering a collaborative team culture. - Strong analytical and diagnostic skills. - Demonstrated expertise in technical risks, issues, and constraints. **Additional Details:** Flutter Entertainment offers a range of benefits, including access to upskilling programs, career growth opportunities, comprehensive health insurance, well-being support, and hybrid work policies.
