Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Azure) who can seamlessly blend hands-on data engineering expertise with a solution design and architectural mindset. This role will be responsible for building scalable, high-performance data solutions on Azure leveraging Data Factory, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.

The ideal candidate is a proactive technologist who can own data pipelines end-to-end today and evolve into an Azure Data Architect in future client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks.
• Build scalable data models and architecture leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, and related services.
• Collaborate with solution architects and client stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Lead data integration, transformation, and orchestration initiatives across multiple sources and targets.
• Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data workflows in Azure environments.
• Establish data engineering best practices including CI/CD, version control, and automation.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior data engineers and contribute to solution architecture discussions.
• Stay current with emerging Azure data platform capabilities and recommend modernization opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–8+ years of experience in data engineering and data platform development.
• Deep hands-on experience with:
• Azure Data Factory (ADF) for orchestration and data pipeline automation.
• Azure Databricks for data processing, transformation, and advanced analytics.
• Microsoft Fabric and Lakehouse architecture.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling concepts.
• Solid understanding of data architecture principles, data lake design, and modern data stack.
• Exposure to Azure Synapse, Power BI, and CI/CD (DevOps) integration is a plus.
• Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate / Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Strong communication and solution presentation skills.
• Ability to transition into a Solution Architect or Lead Data Engineer role in the near future.
