Description
As a Network Operations Lead at New Relic, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and supporting the operations of our Network teams. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and supporting the operations of our Network teams, focusing on cloud network infrastructure expansion and troubleshooting. - Improving processes and setting an example for the team. - Collaborating with peers to design, deploy, and manage cloud networking infrastructure following New Relic's best practices. - Keeping abreast of tech trends and understanding their impact on the team, driving their implementation when necessary. - Making informed decisions regarding technical challenges through open conversations with team members. - Mentoring colleagues on both technical and interpersonal aspects of network team membership. - Prioritizing cost control measures for our cloud infrastructure. - Participating in an on-call rotation and emphasizing stability in all activities to ensure a healthy work-life balance. Your playground will consist of a multi-cloud ecosystem handling a vast amount of data and requests daily, an evolving architecture with numerous containerized services, and a tech stack featuring various technologies such as BGP, CDN, Kubernetes, Gloo/Istio, Envoy, Python, and more. Qualifications required for this role include: Must-have: - 4+ years of experience in building and supporting scalable, highly available, and secure network infrastructure on public cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP. - Strong expertise in cloud and container networking, as well as streaming platforms. - Programming experience with languages like Go, Terraform, or CrossPlane. - Experience or certification in Kubernetes. - Solid knowledge of cloud network security and modern cloud deployment patterns. - Ability to write code related to common architecture patterns, with a DevOps mindset. - Familiarity with traditional Networking & Security Concepts. - Flexibility to work across multiple time zones in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent relationship building and communication skills. Nice-to-have: - Certifications in Azure and/or AWS Networking. - Experience with technical documentation, architectural diagrams, Jira, Scrum, NR1/NRQL, telemetry, observability, and analytics applications. - Experience with SDL & Gloo.
