Senior Civil Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the civil and structural design for infrastructure and industrial projects including RCC and steel structures.
  
• Perform calculations for load, stress, and stability, and design structural members using relevant IS codes / Eurocode / ACI / BS standards.
  
• Prepare and review civil design drawings (GA, RCC detailing, foundation layouts, drainage plans, etc.).
  
• Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and electrical design teams for interdisciplinary alignment.
  
• Guide and review work of engineers and drafters including on site team
  
• Evaluate soil reports, site topography, and geotechnical data to finalize foundation types and earthworks.
  
• Work with software such as STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, , and MS Project for design and documentation.
  
• Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to discuss project needs and resolve technical issues.
  
• Support tendering, estimation, and proposal teams with technical inputs and BOQs.
  
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and construction regulations.
  
• Prepare and present design reports, risk assessments, and design justifications to internal teams or authorities.

• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and technical submissions from consultants and subcontractors.
  
• Conduct value engineering studies to optimize structural systems, material usage, and construction costs without compromising safety or performance.
  
• Ensure constructability of designs by incorporating site constraints, sequencing, and methodology considerations.
  
• Provide technical support during construction, including responding to RFIs, site queries, and issuing design clarifications or revisions as required.
  
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and constructability workshops.
  
• Establish and maintain design quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures.
  
• Monitor design progress against project schedules and proactively flag risks or delays.
  
• Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for compliance with design intent and specifications.
  
• Coordinate with procurement teams for technical evaluation of vendor offers and material selections.
  
• Ensure integration of BIM models and maintain consistency between 2D drawings, 3D models, and design calculations.
  
• Stay updated with changes in design codes, standards, and industry best practices, and implement them where applicable.
  
• Mentor junior engineers by providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  
• Assist in obtaining statutory approvals and liaising with local authorities, third-party reviewers, and certifying agencies.
  
• Support project close-out activities including as-built drawings, design documentation, and handover reports.
