Senior Business Analyst

Position Overview:

Principal Responsibilities:

• Deliver precise functional specifications, including functional hierarchies, workflows, business rules, interface definitions, data analysis, data mapping, outstanding issues, and dependencies.
• Translate customer and stakeholder requirements into comprehensive User Stories, including well-defined acceptance criteria and recommended solutions.
• Build, document, and maintain detailed functional and system specifications to support development efforts.
• Create, update, and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure alignment between requirements, design, development, and testing.
• Conduct and support gap analysis between system capabilities and stated customer requirements; collaborate with architects and developers to assess solution options and project impact.
• Work closely with Development, QA, and Production Support teams to communicate, validate, and test desired functionality changes.
• Partner with clients and stakeholders to demonstrate system changes and confirm that business needs are fully addressed.
• Develop training materials and deliver training sessions in one-on-one and classroom environments.
• Effectively manage multiple competing priorities through strong organization, communication, and stakeholder engagement.

Leadership & Team Responsibilities - As a senior member of a small delivery team, the role also includes leadership and coordination responsibilities:

• Participate in and lead meetings with clients and internal delivery teams.
• Coordinate delivery team tasks and assignments; monitor progress and support issue resolution.
• Create, review, and facilitate requirements-related discussions and working sessions.
• Support system testing activities, including system, regression, and smoke testing.
• Review and assist with Help Desk tickets and responses as needed.
• Support the planning and execution of end-user training sessions, including preparation of training materials.
• Prepare and review outreach communications; manage outreach user lists and track outreach activities.
• Write, review, and maintain process and procedure documentation; support adoption and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Provide updates during Weekly Agile Release Train (ART) Status Meetings, including sprint progress, risks, and dependencies.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrated, hands-on experience developing User Stories, including progression from customer workflows through acceptance criteria.
• Bachelors degree or higher in a technology-related field or equivalent experience implementing software solutions within the health industry.
• 8+ years of experience in a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Strong understanding of business analysis principles, processes, techniques, and workflows.
• Proven ability to develop use cases, functional specifications, and technical requirements.
• Ability to clearly understand, represent, and advocate for end-user needs within a software development environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong consultative, advisory, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Prior experience with Healthcare IT systems and/or Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) environments is strongly preferred.
