Job Description

Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js & GraphQL

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in GraphQL-based API architecture, Node.js, and TypeScript, to support and modernize enterprise backend platforms. This role will focus on designing scalable GraphQL services, leading the migration from JavaScript to TypeScript, and building cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, hands-on, and capable of contributing to architectural decisions.
Job Details Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js & GraphQL Node.js, GraphQL, and TypeScript

Design, develop, and maintain scalable GraphQL APIs, including schema design and resolver optimization
Develop backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
Lead and support migration of JavaScript codebases to TypeScript
Build, deploy, and maintain backend services on Microsoft Azure
Integrate GraphQL services with REST APIs, databases, and external systems
Ensure performance, security, scalability, and reliability of applications
Implement best practices for logging, monitoring, error handling, and observability
Collaborate with frontend teams, architects, and DevOps teams
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture reviews
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js
Expertise in GraphQL architecture and API design
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
Experience in migrating JavaScript applications to TypeScript
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services
Solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architectures
Experience with frameworks such as Apollo Server, NestJS, or similar
Knowledge of authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth, Azure AD)
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
