Job Description

We are looking for someone with:

Strong and demonstrable problem-solving ability
Comfortable with self-management and on-the-job learning
Ability to share knowledge across team(s)
Demonstrable initiative and logical thinking
Passion about emerging technologies and self development
Strong computer science fundamentals
Collaborative work-ethic
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of applying object oriented and functional programming styles to real world problems.

Ideally (but not restrictive) you should have:

Hands on experience (5+) years using Java and/or Scala
Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery
Knowledge of microservice architecture
Working experience with TDD & BDD
Experience building REST API's
Experience working with Docker
General knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
Working experience with Jira, Confluence

Nice to haves:

Special interest in functional programming
Knowledge of reactive manifesto
Knowledge of streaming data
Experience with Akka, Play Framework or Lagom
Experience working with Kafka
Knowledge of NoSQL
Cloud based development with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud etc.
Commercial exposure with ELK stack
