Senior Automotive Hardware Design Engineer High voltage/Power Electronics (Hardware Engineering Semiconductor/Chip domain) Job Description: A High Voltage (HV) Power Electronics Semiconductor Engineer is responsible for selecting and evaluating semiconductor devices for high voltage power electronics applications (such as Electric Drive Module -EDM consists of Electric Motor, power electronics, Transmission). The main job responsibilities will include but not limited to: Evaluate and select appropriate semiconductor devices (such as IGBTs, MOSFETs, diodes, and thyristors etc..) for high voltage applications. Assess the technical specifications and performance of semiconductor devices against application requirements. Work with cross-functional teams including design engineers, application engineers, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration of selected components. Maintain detailed records of component specifications, evaluation criteria, and selection decisions. Stay updated with the latest advancements in semiconductor technology and market trends to recommend the best-suited components. This role involves working closely with Architecture/Design, safety engineer & Buyer/purchasing ensuring that the chosen components meet the performance, reliability, and cost requirements of the applications. Working knowledge on automotive HEV/EV, high voltage power trains and other HV vehicle subsystems. Work proactively with silicon vendor partners to drive design features and technology road map. Knowledge about ISO26262 and Cyber security implementations Support HW Engineering group during advanced design phases, system architecture definitions and ECU development / Qualifications. Ability to collaborate and work with global team spread across different regions and time zones. Basic Qualifications B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech in Electrical/Electronics, Power electronics, Telecommunication, or equivalent Engineering Minimum 8+ years of experience in automotive embedded electronics designs or hardware/system architectural role. Knowledge of HEV/EV, High voltage power trains, HV vehicle subsystems. Experience in Automotive ECU design, power management, BMS or other HV systems. Strong teamwork spirit, excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in automotive area (OEM, TIER1, TIER2) Knowledge of ECU/Board software/Bring up software. Knowledge of safety standards including ISO 26262, Euro NAP, and Security regulations would be a plus.
