Senior Appian Developer

As a Senior Appian Developer at NewlightSolutions, you will be responsible for leading full-cycle delivery, including architecture, implementation, quality assurance, and client demonstrations. Your role will involve mentoring mid-level engineers, establishing development standards, and driving continuous improvement as the company scales its operations. Your key responsibilities will include designing and developing performant Appian applications, facilitating requirement-gathering workshops, preparing workload estimates and resource forecasts, enforcing Appian design patterns and coding standards, conducting performance tuning and capacity planning, maintaining technical documentation, coordinating environment management, managing change control logs, and tracking emerging Appian features and industry trends. To excel in this role, you are required to have a minimum of 5 years of end-to-end Appian delivery experience, with at least two full production go-lives under your belt. You must possess a Level 2 certification, with Level 3 certification strongly preferred. Additionally, you should have a deep understanding of the full Appian feature set, integration expertise, hands-on development experience in Java, and proficiency in Python or JavaScript. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical decisions into clear business impact are essential. Preferred qualifications for this position include experience with embedding OpenAI or AzureOpenAI into Appian solutions, familiarity with Mendix, Microsoft PowerPlatform, or microservices architectures, and prior technical leadership or mentorship experience in Agile delivery teams. In the first six months of your role, your success will be measured by achieving two production go-lives with fewer than 1% post-deployment defects, training at least one junior developer on low-code platforms, and receiving explicit requests from clients for your involvement in roadmap or enhancement sessions.
