Senior Android Engineer

This role is for one of Weekday's clients. We are looking for skilled Android developers who specialize in creating pixel-perfect apps. While the main focus will be on the front end of the product, understanding the API services and infrastructure that the app integrates with is also important. The ideal candidate will be able to determine when to opt for a fully native solution and when to utilize JavaScript to enhance code reusability and comprehensibility. Responsibilities - Architect and develop high-quality mobile applications. - Collaborate with teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. - Design pixel-perfect and seamless UIs for both mobile platforms. - Use native APIs for in-depth integrations. - Identify and address bugs and performance issues to ensure a native-like user experience. - Manage code and create automated tests to uphold superior product quality. - Migrate existing React web apps to React Native. - Produce well-documented, clean JavaScript code. - Efficiently work with third-party dependencies and troubleshoot dependency conflicts. Experience Required - React Native: 2+ years (utilizing libraries such as react-native-paper) - Native Android development: 2+ years - Proficiency in CSS - Familiarity with RTK Query, React Hook Form, and Redux Toolkit Our Expectations - Deliver flawless UIs on both mobile platforms. - Utilize native APIs for thorough integrations. - Identify and resolve bugs and performance bottlenecks to ensure a performance that mimics native applications. - Maintain code quality and conduct automated tests to guarantee top-notch product standards. - Transition existing React web apps to React Native. - Write well-documented, clean JavaScript code. - Expertise in managing third-party dependencies and resolving dependency conflicts. Preferred Background - Experience in developing Fintech or consumer-tech products. - Experience in revitalizing existing products to achieve product-market fit. - Experience working in early-stage startups. - Strong communication skills for effective interaction with end users.
