Senior Android Engineer

Role Overview: As an individual in this role, you will be accountable for the successful and timely delivery of projects or aspects of projects in the Client Platform domain. This is a development role that involves working within various Scrum and Kanban teams in multiple geographic locations worldwide. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze functional requirements, design, and implement a solution based on SDLC - Participate in the technical design of all elements of an Android application - Code, test, and deploy Android applications or parts of Android applications with local and/or offshore developers within a Scrum or Kanban team - Responsible for delivering high-quality code that meets the KPI - Work with Product Owners and Business Analysts to ensure appropriate design and implementation of a solution - Collaborate with test engineers to ensure minimum defects are introduced into QA - Ability to look beyond the status quo and identify areas of constant change/improvement Qualifications Required: - 13+ years of experience required - Hands-on experience developing Android apps - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Mathematics - Expert level understanding of the Android SDK and Android development paradigms - Very high proficiency with the Java language and strong proficiency with the Kotlin language - Preferred experience with RxKotlin or similar reactive frameworks - Ability to effectively lead on challenging technical use cases - Passion for Android and a commitment to building award-winning apps - Collaborative attitude - Track record of publishing apps to the Google Play Store - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills - Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills - Demonstrable experience working to tight timelines on multiple detailed activities simultaneously - Experience working with agile methodology, especially Scrum Additional Company Details: UBS is the world's largest and the only truly global wealth manager operating through four business divisions: Global Wealth Management, Personal & Corporate Banking, Asset Management, and the Investment Bank.
