Role Summary
We re looking for a hands-on Senior Android Engineer (SDE-III) to own critical modules of the BeBetta app. You will architect scalable features, raise the bar on performance and reliability, mentor engineers, and collaborate cross-functionally to ship delightful experiences that tens of thousands of users rely on daily.
What You ll Do
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex Android features from architecture and design to implementation, testing, and release.
- Lead technical decisions for app modules (navigation, rewards engine, creator tools, live interactions), ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.
- Drive modern Android development practices (Kotlin-first, coroutines/Flow, Jetpack, Compose or XML, Hilt/Koin, Room, Retrofit/OkHttp).
- Partner with Product, Design, and Backend to define requirements, sequence work, and ship iteratively with measurable impact.
- Optimize app performance (startup time, frame rate, memory, battery), instrument telemetry, and resolve production issues rapidly.
- Establish quality gates: unit/UI tests, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, coding standards, and documentation.
- Mentor and upskill SDE-I/II engineers; propose and lead tech initiatives, spikes, and architecture reviews.
- Champion app security, data privacy, and compliance for a gamified ecosystem (auth, secure storage, network hardening).
- Collaborate on platform reliability (feature flags, A/B testing, rollouts, crash-free goals, observability).
Must-Have Qualifications
- 5 8 years of professional Android development with a strong Kotlin foundation (Java familiarity welcome).
- Deep experience with modern Android tooling: Jetpack libraries (Lifecycle, Navigation, Room, WorkManager), coroutines/Flow, DI (Hilt/Koin), networking (Retrofit/OkHttp), and Gradle.
- Proven track record of owning complex features or modules in production apps with large user bases.
- Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (MVVM/MVI/Clean Architecture), modularization, and testability (JUnit, Espresso/Compose UI).
- Performance profiling and optimization skills (Android Studio Profiler, Systrace, memory/leaks, ANR/crash reduction).
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and handling offline-first/data sync scenarios.
- Solid Git practices, code review rigor, and CI/CD exposure (Bitrise/GitHub Actions/Jenkins/Firebase App Distribution).
- Excellent collaboration and communication, with an ability to translate product goals into robust technical plans.

- Jetpack Compose in production, and migration strategies from XML.
- Analytics and experimentation frameworks (Firebase, Amplitude, Segment) and A/B testing.
- Feature flagging and remote config (Firebase/LaunchDarkly).
- Experience with media/live features, real-time interactions, or creator-centric tools.
- Security hardening (ProGuard/R8, obfuscation, certificate pinning, secure storage).
- Play Store release management, staged rollouts, app signing, and store compliance.
- Exposure to scalable backend contracts and GraphQL/gRPC.
- Passion for gaming, creator economy, or social/e-commerce mobile patterns.

- Ship at least one high-impact module (e.g., rewards redemption, live leaderboard, creator portal) with clear metrics (e.g., crash-free sessions >99.5%, startup time
- Reduce a key technical debt area (modularization, build times, flaky tests).
- Establish or refine quality gates (coverage targets, lint rules, performance budgets).
