Senior Analyst

Business: Corporate and Institutional Banking Front Office

Principal Responsibilities

  • Preparation of pitches and marketing materials this will involve conducting industry and product research; benchmarking, profiling companies, case studies, preparing financing models and valuation analysis, capital market security analysis as appropriate
  • Be involved in and support the execution of capital instrument issuance for EMEA FIG and Corporate clients
  • Developing understanding of the sector / product to identify new business opportunities over time
  • Work closely with DCM and all other origination functions including M&A, LAF and ECM teams
  • Interact with rating agencies and regulators on behalf of clients for deal executions
  • Undergo continuous learning and enhance job specific skills over-time
  • Take ownership of work done and have excellent execution capabilities

  • This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators.
  • The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the Three Lines of Defence. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the Three Lines of Defence, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required.
  • Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC's Financial Crime Risk Appetite.
  • The jobholder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures.
  • The term compliance embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

Qualification

  • Exceptionally qualified MBAs (with good CGPA score), CAs with prior experience in an Investment Banking set-up or Big four (E&Y, PWC, Deloitte, KPMG)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in capital markets domain (Debt and / or Equity, Convertibles), leveraged acquisition financing, M&A, sector advisory or someone who has been part of an investment banking, corporate finance or equity research set up
  • Experience in corporate finance, financial modelling, valuation, corporate strategy, drafting pitch books
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
  • Strong accounting, quantitative and business writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly proficient at Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Good at multitasking and confident team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good for candidate to have professional certifications like CFA / FRM
