SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

As a Senior Tax Accountant, your role involves reviewing and analyzing individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1041) to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. Your responsibilities will include: - Identifying and resolving discrepancies in tax returns and supporting documentation. - Conducting detailed reviews of complex tax issues, such as international tax filings and tax reform calculations (e.g., GILTI). - Providing guidance and recommendations to the tax preparation team for compliance and process improvement. - Staying updated on changes in tax laws and implementing relevant updates to the review process. - Mentoring junior staff members to enhance their tax knowledge and skills. - Maintaining accurate records of review findings, recommendations, and client communications. - Assisting with tax planning and consulting engagements by offering strategic advice to optimize tax positions. Qualifications required for this role include: - 3-5 years of experience in tax preparation and review for individuals and businesses. - Extensive experience with forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1041, including multistate tax returns. - Proficiency in tax software such as Drake, UltraTax, Intuit software, CCH, ProSystem fx, and other relevant tools. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. - Knowledge of software like Pro-series, CCH, Lacerte, TurboTax, and UltraTax. Qualification: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Language Proficiency: - Well conversant in verbal and written English communication. Preferred Certifications: - Enrolled Agent. Computer Proficiency & Specifications: - Sound knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Excel and Outlook.
